Minutes of December 22, 2020 Wilderness Road Amateur Radio Club Meeting
Meeting was virtual via Dennis’ Zoom account. (Again, thanks Dennis!)
Meeting called to order by President Mike May at 1933.

o December 7, 2020 TALARC D-STAR Net: 45 check ins from 12 States & 1 Canadian Province. (See appendix for details.)
o Various contests occurred during the month, individual participation (not as Club)
Upcoming:
o Peter: Do members want to participate in a contest(s) using Zoom to coordinate, coach, etc via Zoom?
As individuals or as Club depending upon contest. Yes, tentatively we’ll do the NA QSO Party on
Saturday, January 16. We will start about 1pm local time that day, and run a few hours, probably to 4- 5pm
o Next TALARC D-STAR: Monday, January 4. Remember you can check in via EchoLink from your computer or smartphone to node KY4RW-L or use EchoLink’s search mode on “Danville”.
o Monthly coffee via Zoom: Friday, January 1, 9 A.M. (Yes, New Year’s Day)
o VE Testing Sessions:
Harold has updated all four 2021 VE test dates online with ARRL which should propagate to all necessary sites. The 4 dates in 2021 are Jan 23, Apr 24, July 24, & Oct 23 — 10AM at Post 46. Go to Find an Amateur Radio License Exam in Your Area (arrl.org) and type in Zip Code 40422.
If someone wants to test with us, they can go to https://exam.tools and by clicking on the link to HamStudy.org they can register. Just type in 40422 in the ZIP Code box and it should come up.
Next VE session is January 23, 2021 using same signup and test procedure as last one (October).
Testing is in person but there is an online test available although we do not run it. Signup and other details at WRARC.com

Four are outstanding.
o Three have been contacted via email; none have responded yet.
o For one Ken does not have an email address and is working to find one.
Work underway transferring responsibilities to other members from George Griebe who has been doing this for years. Ken is spearing-heading the effort (other than the Repeater Trustee – see below), mainly researching as to what all and how.
Looking for people to make presentations at future meetings: please contact Mike if you would like to present or have suggestions of topics.
New Business
Motion to change Repeater Trustee to Chris Galbreath (KG4UQL) by Dennis, 2nd by John. Passed by acclimation.
(Quorum of membership is present: minimum quorum is 8 and 12 are attending.)
Ken is reserving Post Hall for Kentucky QSO Party as well as Field Day
