Monthly Meeting Minutes for 27 JUNE 2023 – FINAL RECORD COPY

Meeting called to order by Vice-President Chris Galbreath (KG4UQL) at 1930 hours EDT.
Attendees: 12 attending members of 36 total: (A quorum was present.)

(KI4WKM), Dennis Weiskircher (K3KZU), Doug Collins (KA4SWT), Gene Klaus (KO4IVI), Harold
Miller (AF6MB), Ken Douglas (KY4KD), Peter Rock (KJ4ND), Rick Flynn (KO4UHE), Tony Cromwell
(KB4TC).
There were also three visitors at the meeting in the AmLeg hall.
Previous monthly meeting was 23 MAY 2023. Motion to accept Minutes of meetings as published (via
email) by Dennis (K3KZU), 2nd by Peter (KJ4ND). Passed by acclimation.

Past Activities Report:
o Previous Weekly WRARC OTA club net was conducted each Wednesday evening at
2000L on the club’s 2m Repeater.
o Previous WRARC hybrid Coffee Social was on Friday, 2 JUN 2023 (1st Friday of month).
o Previous AMLEG Post 46 D-STAR NET (1st Monday of month) was conducted on 5 JUN 2023.
o Previous monthly general meeting of The American Legion Post 46 was 1900L hours on
Tuesday, 6 JUN 2023.
o Previous Club Activity was KENTUCKY QSO Party on 3 JUN 2023.
o Previous WRARC hybrid monthly club meeting was on Tuesday, 27 JUN 2023 (4th
Tuesday of month).
Old Business:
o KY QSO Party discussion. 0900-2100, 3 Jun 2023. Peter will be at club station.
o ARRL Field Day discussion. 24 & 25 Jun 2023. Peter will be setting up two portable
outdoor antennas at the AMLEG building. Starts at 1400. Peter will be doing CW.
o Tony (KB4TC) reports that the Post 46 website calendar has been updated thanks to
Harold (AF6MB).
o Tony (KB4TC) also reported that Post 46 will be hosting a Chamber of Commerce
meeting at the AMLEG building on 21 Sep 2023.
o Mike (KF4FMQ) will not be here for the next club meeting so Chris (KG4UQL) will
conduct the meeting.
New Business:
o A big thanks to Peter (KJ4ND) for coordinating all the annual Field Day activities.
o Members are encouraged to participate in the 13 American Colonies contest which will
occur 1 – 7 JULY 2023.
o Per Tony, need a list of soft drinks to keep available at radio shack in AmLeg hall.
o Per Tony, there is a free meal at the AmLeg hall every Thursday @ 1600 hours.
o Per Tony, this Saturday there will be fireworks & a band at the AmLeg hall. $15 per
couple.
Future Activities:
o Next weekly WRARC OTA club net is each Wednesday evening at 2000L on the club’s 2m
Repeater: 145.310 MHz with -600 kHz offset and Split PL Code 100 Hz (i.e. 100 Hz on
both Tx CTCSS & Rx CTCSS).
o Next AMLEG Post 46 D-STAR NET (1st Monday of month) is on 3 JUL 2023 on REF56C via
our local D-STAR repeater KM4OON, +5 MHz offset, 444.2375 MHz & no PL tones.
o Next monthly general meeting of The American Legion Post 46 will be at 1900L hours on
Tuesday, 4 JUL 2023.
o Next WRARC Coffee Social is on Friday, 7 JUL 2023 (1st Friday of month) at 0900L via
ZOOM.
o Next Club Activity is the North American QSO Party – RTTY on 15 JUL 2023 at 1800Z
(1300L to 1700L). Operations will be from our AmLeg club radio room and also on
ZOOM.
o Next VEC Testing: Saturday, 22 JUL 2023 starting at 1000L at The American Legion Post
46 building, 45 Spears Lane, Danville, KY. See http://www.wrarc.com/ve-testing/ for
details. Pre-registration is requested but not required.
o Next WRARC hybrid monthly club meeting is on Tuesday, 25 JUL 2023 (4th Tuesday of
month) at 1930L at The American Legion Post 46 and via ZOOM.
