Meeting Minutes - August 3, 2010
The Wilderness Road ARC met at the Red Cross building in Danville with 6 members attending. Members present were KE4INO, WQ4Z, K4UKB, KA4SWT, K4OH and K4FT
The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by President John Montgomery K4OH.
The minutes from July were read by John K4FT. Marshall K4UKB made the motion to accept the minutes as read, George WQ4Z 2nd the motion. The motion was approved by the members.
Marshall K4UKB reported that after receiving one membership dues and depositing the remainder of the gas money collected for FD that the account balance is $715.87. Sharon KE4INO made the motion to accept the treasurer's report and Doug KA4SWT 2nd the motion. Members approved the motion.

VE Testing
- John K4FT reports the first WRARC VE test session is registered with the ARRL VEC and will be held at the Red Cross building on Saturday September 25th 2010 at 10:00 AM local time. If you would like to help, please contact John K4FT
- If anyone wants any of the magazines at the club station, please contact John K4OH within the next two weeks or they will be gone.

- Doug KA4SWT will add a pulley on the tower to help raise HF wire antennas as time permits.
- Marshall K4UKB said the repeater has been very noisy. Doug KA4SWT to investigate when he has time.
- John K4OH reports that Mike KE4YUC has some surplus items which the club could sell to make money for the treasury. John K4OH to follow up.

September 7st 7:30pm Danville Red Cross - After the meeting, John K4FT (yours truly) gave a presentation "Why Contest" which explained some of the basics of contesting and how it can help you with several aspects of amateur radio. I also invited the club to come out to my place on Saturday August 21, 2010 starting at 2pm for a club picnic which runs concurrently with the North American QSO Party SSB contest.
I will have a station set up to make contacts during the contest and will supply hot dogs and chips, just bring your favorite drink. Come on out and socialize, sit around the fire (weather permitting) and learn a little about contesting (optional of course).
