Monthly Meeting Minutes for Sept 23, 2025
Hybrid meeting via Dennis’ Zoom account. (Thanks Dennis!)
Meeting called to order by President Mike May (KF4FMQ) at 1730 hours EST.
Attendees: 10 attending members and no guest for 10 total: (A quorum was present.)

Previous monthly meeting was Aug 26 2025. Motion to accept Minutes of meeting as published (via email) by Peter (KJ4ND), 2nd by Chris Galbreath (KG4UQL). Passed by acclamation.

Past Activities Report:
The WRARC Coffee Social was on Friday, Sept, 5 2025 at 0900L at Red Rooster, about 7 attended.
The WRARC monthly club meeting was held on Aug. 26.
The Iowa, Texas and New Jersey QSO Party activity on 9/20 was canceled due to funeral.
The weekly WRARC OTA club net is each Wednesday evening at 2000L on the club’s 2m Repeater:
145.310 MHz with -600 kHz offset and Split PL Code 100 Hz (i.e. 100 Hz on both Tx CTCSS & Rx
CTCSS). Repeater was down, but is back on line.
General meeting of The American Legion Boyle Post 46 at 1900L hours on Tuesday, Sept 2, 2025 (1st
Tuesday of the month) was canceled due to holiday schedule.
Old Business:
The Club Secretary position was filled by election of Harold Miller (AF6MB).
The Bourbon Chase will be held on 10/3, more information in New Business
Now is the time for membership renewal for the 2026. Members can send a check payable to American
Legion Post 46 to:

New Business:
1) The club repeater was found to have feed line/connector issues and was taken off the air. Temporary
repairs have been made and the transmitter returned to service. Further evaluation and repairs can be
expected.
2) Taylor Scott (KA9CKI) was not able to attend this month’s meeting but has asked that this information
be included in the meeting.
The ARRL is supporting legislation intended to protect/change restrictions in Home Owners Associations
(HOA) to support Amateur radio operators ability to operate their stations in their homes. This is a link to a video explaining the ARRL stance.

3) The Bourbon Chase will be held on 10/3, runners are expected in the early evening. The bulk of the
runners arrive between 1700 and 2300. The city has asked if we will be reporting the runners as we have
done before. This requires two stations be set up attended and then disassembled. A runner spotting
station at the Showroom parking lot on Lebanon Rd., and a display station on Main St.. The runners’ bib
numbers are transmitted to the receiving display station via 2M packet. The teams can then see when their runners were seen and prepare their next relay runner in a timely manner. Who would be able to help. 8 members have said they can help. The Bank refused permission to set up under their drive-thru or to provide power.

Oct 11 – Four State contest (NV, AL, PA, SD) start 1PM Local

but not required.
Next WRARC hybrid monthly club meeting will on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025 (4th Tuesday of month) at
1900L and business session starting at 1930L at The American Legion Post 46 building, 45 Spears Lane,
Danville and via ZOOM.
Burgin Ham radio club has been offered a radio from Gene Klaus estate, cables, and possibly antennas. A
switching power supply is down in the Post shack. Harold will inventory and use for the Burgin club.
