Monthly Meeting Minutes for 25 APRIL 2023 – FINAL RECORD COPY (REVISED)

Meeting called to order by President Mike May (KF4FMQ) at 1931 hours EDT.
Attendees: 13 attending members of 36 total: (A quorum was present.)

Previous monthly meeting was 28 MAR 2023. Motion to accept Minutes of meetings as published (via
email) by Dennis (K3KZU), 2nd by Chris (KG4UQL). Passed by acclimation.

Next expected expense is in June for $15 Incorporation Fee
Past Activities Report:
o Previous Weekly WRARC OTA club net was conducted each Wednesday evening at
2000L on the club’s 2m Repeater.
o Previous WRARC hybrid Coffee Social was on Friday, 3 MAR 2023 (1st Friday of month).
o Previous AMLEG Post 46 D-STAR NET (1st Monday of month) was conducted on 6 MAR
2023.
o Previous monthly general meeting of The American Legion Post 46 was 1900L hours on
Tuesday, 7 MAR 2023.
o Previous Club Activity was two state QSO parties, OK & Idaho on 11 MAR 2023.
o Previous WRARC hybrid monthly club meeting was on Tuesday, 28 MAR 2023 (4th
Tuesday of month).
Old Business
o New ARRL Club Development Program. This program consists of a series of free
webinars aimed at covering the various roles that exist in clubs. Future seminars will
look at the roles of Treasurers, Newsletter Editors, Public Information Officers,
Webmasters, and others.
o ARRL Field Day. Discussed locations for possible club Field Day site. 1. AMLEG Hall, 2.
AMLEG Pavilion, 3. Donnelly Employee Park, 4. Constitution Square. Discussion tabled
until April club meeting.
New Business
o KY QSO Party. 3 & 4 Jun 2023. 0900L-2100L Peter will be at the club. Got count of those
interested.
o ARRL Field Day. 24 & 25 Jun 2023. Peter got count of those interested.
o Weather Station. Ron Malinowski (WX4GPS) donated a weather station to the club.
o ARRL Amateur Radio testing held April 22, 5 test takers present, 3 new Tech licenses
issued and 2 successful upgrades to General Class. Congratulations!
o Tablet. Motion was made by Peter (KJ4ND) to purchase a new tablet, up to $200, for
Amateur Radio testing use. Motion 2nd by Harold. Passed by acclimation.
Future Activities:
o Next weekly WRARC OTA club net is each Wednesday evening at 2000L on the club’s 2m
Repeater: 145.310 MHz with -600 kHz offset and Split PL Code 100 Hz (i.e. 100 Hz on
both Tx CTCSS & Rx CTCSS).
o Next AMLEG Post 46 D-STAR NET (1st Monday of month) is on 1 MAY 2023 on REF56C via
our local D-STAR repeater KM4OON, +5 MHz offset, 444.2375 MHz & no PL tones.
o Next monthly general meeting of The American Legion Post 46 will be at 1900L hours on
Tuesday, 2 MAY 2023.
o Next WRARC Coffee Social is on Friday, 5 MAY 2023 (1st Friday of month) at 0900L via
ZOOM.
o Next Club Activity is 7th Area QSO Party on 6 MAY at 1800Z (1300L to 1700L) which will
have 8 states as well as IN & DE QSO Parities. Operations will be from the club site and
also on ZOOM.
o Next WRARC hybrid monthly club meeting is on Tuesday, 23 MAY 2023 (4th Tuesday of
month) at 1930L at The American Legion Post 46 and via ZOOM.
o Next VEC Testing: Saturday, 22 JUL 2023 starting at 1000L at The American Legion Post
46 building, 45 Spears Lane, Danville, KY. See http://www.wrarc.com/ve-testing/ for
details. Pre-registration is requested but not required.
